Calling all reliable, physically fit workers with previous experience in heavy lifting positions like landscaping, construction, warehouse etc. to apply for this position starting at the end of April. A typical day:
- Riding on the back of a garbage truck
- Collect and load garbage, recyclables, leaf and yard waste, and green bin materials in garbage trucks 5 days a week
- Arrive by 6:00 am to finish. (approximately 4:00 p.m, varies some days and can be up to 8:00 pm)
- Must provide own safety vest, steel toe boots, gloves, safety glasses that are shatterproof
- Must be able to repetitively lift up to 65 lbs
- Ability to complete a Back-fit test
- Physical ability to climb to and from the operator's position and possess the manual dexterity and coordination to use both hands and feet simultaneously in order to operate a machine
- English communication skills
- Ability to work well with others
- Previous heavy lifting experience such as Landscaping, Roofers, Construction workers or Warehouse
- Ability to lift up to 65 lbs repeatedly
- Ablility to work outdoors all day, regardless of weather conditions
- Ability to work 5 days a week for 10 hours per day and be reliable to show up for shifts
- $18.50 hourly
- Full time hours + Overtime
- 4% vacation pay on each paycheque
