Our client, a global leading IT company, is looking for multiple SRE /Site Reliability Engineers.
#1: SRE/Site Reliability Engineer (availability, latency, performance, efficiency ......)
- Contract Duration: 1 year renewable
- Worksite: Remote - anywhere in Canada
Responsible for availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning. Site reliability engineers create a bridge between development and operations by applying a software engineering mindset to system administration topics.
Skills:
- Knowledge and practical experience of Java Springboot
- Prior experience writing high performance back-end applications
- Practical experience writing data pipelines and building multi-threaded applications
- Working knowledge of fundamental data structures and algorithms
- Solid understanding of Microservice and principles
- Knowledge of CI / CD concepts and docker
- Familiarity with Kafka and/or similar technology
#2: Site Reliability Engineer / SRE (Primarily on infrastructure and its relationships)
- Contract Duration: 6 months renewable
- Worksite: Remote, anywhere in Canada
Primarily focused on infrastructure and its relationships
Skills:
- Responsible to own a suite of applications and represent application needs often involving other teams
- Provide prioritization viewpoint in terms of what to focus on next for related teams
- Document tribal knowledge
- Conduct pre-mortems and engineer or recommend improvements before events happen
- Manage support escalations
- Make recommendations for improvement
- Understand and suggest improvements for application and stack reliability
- Work with security teams to understand polices and how they apply
- Conduct incident post mortems
- Cloud and on-prem aware
- Familiar with DevOps best practices
- Should have an understanding of networking, security, databases, operating systems and common application stack patterns
- This role assumes many of the disciplines that would have been worked with during the career of an Architect
